The Rev. Canon Jerold R. Stadel

Fr. Stadel was born (1943) in Buffalo, NY and lived in Western New York for two decades.  In 1965, he earned an A.B. degree at St. Lawrence University with a manor in Comparative Religions, and in 1968, he earned his S.T.B. degree from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.  He was Curate at St. Matthias’ Church, East Aurora, NY for two years, and in 1970, he was called to be Vicar, then Rector, of St. Catherine's, Temple Terrace, FL, where he served for 23 years.  He retired in 1993.

In the Diocese of Southwest Florida, Fr. Stadel has served as a member of the Diocesan Council and Education Committee, as consultant to the Commission on Ministry, and Chairman of the Pastoral Care Commission, Aging Committee and Family Committee.  He was Director of the Deacon Training Program for 7 years.  At the national level, Fr. Stadel was diocesan liaison for ESMA (Episcopal Society for Ministry on Aging) and Coordinator of Chaplains to the Retired Clergy for the Fourth Province with the Church Pension Fund.  He has served as a trained "Interim Minister" in this diocese and the Diocese of Central Florida.  He continues to serve as one of the Bishop's Canon Pastors to the Clergy and their families and Chaplain to the retired clergy, their spouses and the surviving spouses.

Fr. Stadel has been married to Anne since 1967.  They have a grown daughter who lives in the area.  The Stadels live in Brandon.
